Reusing an item again and again for the same function isn’t exactly a new idea. Some liquid food containers such as milk, and beer bottles have been used in this way for many years.

So called new-life reuse, where an item is used for a different function, such as using a carrier bag as a bin liner, or an ice cream container as a storage box are often born out of necessity and result in both problem solving and saving money. With some creativity, skill and adaptation wine bottles can become wine glasses, truck tyres become garden swings, and before you know it the idea of one person's trash is another person's treasure looks like a pretty good idea.

Rubbish as a resource
Rubbish is a resource by any definition. It’s a supply of readily available material. Its use saves money, energy, other resources, landfill space, and lessons our impact on our environment.

Like most resources its use is only limited to our imagination. So before we throw something away we need to think about it’s value elsewhere. Can we use it again, give it new life, or reengineer it into something new. The possibilities are endless.
